In the morning I took part in the cleaning volunteer event at the
temple in Kanazawa city which Uninted nation univesity planed.This garden was
produced at the first of Edo period,about 400 years ago.At that
time this temple was posessed by the great subject of Kaga clan,Maeda
family.

Usually this garden is closed because of the cultural property of Kanazawa city. There were some gardeners in the participants.They said that this garden was very elaborated from the then viewpoint.

This garden is called "Kare-san-sui" which means "Mountain" and "dried-River" in Japanese language.The traditional Japanese garden expressed "water" with sands and rocks.you can see many gardens like this type in Koyo city,Japan.
After our cleaning,we enjoyed the Japanese tea ceremony.The following pic is "Rakugan" which is a traditional sugar sweets for the tea ceremony.It is just art.

During samurai period,the tea ceremony tools was the symbols of power.Because the gold was lack so that the leader of samurai,"Nobunaga Oda" or "Hideyoshi Toyotomi", went the tea ceremony tools up in value.Kaga clan,present-Kanazawa city, was No2 powerful city next to Edo,Tokyo, during Edo period.Moreover the lord of Kaga clan,Maeda family,was the subject of "Nobunaga" and "Hideyoshi".And the pupil of "Rikyu Sen",the tea ceemony master,Maeda family was.Therefore the tea ceremony has prospered in Kanazawa city.
