Please look at this picture.This is famous samurai battle "Sekigahara war" in ancient Japan.You will find various mark on flag.This is called
"Kamon" in Japan,it measn "Family emblem(crest)".

The picture on the left side is Japanese passport.In the center of it there is the chrysanthemum mark.This flower symbolizes "Japanese emperor", in brief "Emperors emblem".
Until the and of Edo period,AD1868 ,Only the imperial Court,the Court noble and samurai aristocrat could have the family emblems.After Edo period all Japanese nation could have the family crest by law.Now In Japan there are more than 240 kinds and more than 5000 of
"Kamon".

Before I described about the traditional tea caddy drawing the one of 3 traditional Japanese garden "Kenrokuen-garden" ,Kanazawa city,Ishikawa pref,Japan.
This area was the territory of Maeda family who was the retainer of famous samurai
"Nobunaga Oda".
Maeda famiy possessed this "Kenrokuen-garden".Therefore Maeda family emblem was sticked on it with a gold,a tin,and a mother-of-pearl.

This is Maeda family emblem which represents the flower,
"Ume", Japanese apricot. In addition,today I sticked 2 our family emblems on it by
"makie", gold lacquer work.These 2 emblems have related to samurai
"Nobunaga Oda".Because our ancestor was the branch of famous samurai "Hosakawa family",however,the later they belonged to "Nobunaga Oda"corps.

This is one of our family emblem which resembles "Nobunaga Oda" emblem.Because at first "Nobunaga" and "my ancestor" belonged to samurai Azakura family,Fukui pref.And he gave a part of his family emblem to them.Actually,the greatest samurai,"Nobunaga Oda" had 7
"Kamon" .During samurai period samurai can had many
"kamon".Now days the descenant of samurai or noble court have many
"kamon" and can use them.

"Kuyou" which
"Nobunaga" had at first.Later the our ancestor
"Hosokawa family" had been presented from
"Nobunaga".
"Kuyou" means 9 Gods Indian Buddha,Sanscrit.Most of the
"Nobunaga" force believed christianity and Indian Buddha.In short,
"Nobunaga" was the revolutionist against ancient Japanese society,Japanese Buddhism.
Anyway if our ancestors were Imperial,noble and samurai,we can find the history of our family in Japan.But the only 10% of population was samurai and noble.Many family crests were imitations after Edo period.The farmers or merchants selected their favourite
"Kamon" like famous samurai family.But I am real descendant of samurai
"Hosokawa family" who was the retainers of
"Nobunaga".

"Kamon" was the samurai "Asakura family" who controlled Echizen,present-Fukui pref.Nobunaga and our family were shared one part of Asakura Kamon as the signatures of their alliance.But Nobunaga was the mutineer so that later he killed Asakura family by war.
