This doll is called "Kaga-ningyou" which had been produced in Kaga clan,present Kanazawa city, more than 300 years ago.It has been put at front door or alcove for the fortunate on New year or at baby's birth.”

Kaga-ningyou has originated from "Gosho-ningyou" in Kyoto city during Edo period,more than 300 years ago.At this time many doll artisans convened to Kaga clan from Kyoto by 4th lord of Kaga clan, Tsunanori Maeda.Actually my ancestor was the feudatory of his father,4th lord of Kaga clan.

At the first of Showa-era,about 100 hundred years ago,"Kaga-ningyou"has merchandised by the doll artisan "Kouzan(晃山).I have the "Kaga-ningyou"made by "Kouzan".It is rarity now.Today I put it on my home entrance for New years celebration. These days the next generatin artisan,"Koushun(晃春)" produced "Kaga-ningyou".I hear that the number of artisan "Kaga ningyou" is only 5 person now.
At JR kanazawa station you can see ceramic doll called "Yuutarou" which is mailbox
too."Yuutarou" is a kind of "Kaga ningyou".When you visit here,please check it.It is one of Kanazawa city symbol.
