One of the most famous "Ukiyoe",wood block print maker, is "Hokusai Katsushika",1760A.D.?-1849A.D. Actually It was said that he had 20-30 name and produced about 30000 works in his life."Hokusai" was one of his name in his middle age.His last name was "卍" which meant "temple" in Japanese.

According to some books or articles,"Hokusai" was too poor by his character which was curious and transfered to picture school door to door.So that he drewed many types picture from"Ukiyoe"to illustration of books to make his life.Especially the genre was good salary.

By the way,his daughter "Oui" was a wood block painter too.The below picture was drawned by "Oui".Opposite to "Hokusai", Oui produced only a few works in her life.Her skill was the same as "Hokusai" so that she helped making his Ukiyoe some books told.Someone explained her as Japanese"Rembrant" because she drew her work with a good shading drawing way.From here I wrote this article tytle.
In her later life she was said to live here,Kaga clan,Kanazawa city during Edo period.Kanazawa was No2 largest city at that time therefore many persons of culture have been invited by the lord of Kaga clan,Maeda family.The drawing I have may be drawned by "Hokusai".Now I do not have clear evidence,however,I am investigating it.
